Welcome to ReceiptScanner! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the ReceiptScanner mobile application ("App") provided by ReceiptScanner ("we," "us," or "our").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
Important Notice
Please read these Terms carefully. They include important information about your legal rights, remedies, and obligations.
1 Eligibility
To use ReceiptScanner, you must:

Be at least 13 years of age

Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement

Not be prohibited from using the App under applicable laws

Own or have authorized access to a compatible iOS device
If you are under 18 years of age, you must have permission from your parent or legal guardian to use the App.
2 License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Download, install, and use the App on your iOS device
- Access and use the App's features and functionality
- Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only
3 License Restrictions
You agree NOT to:

Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App

Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App

Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices

Rent, lease, lend, sell, or distribute the App

Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose

Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its systems

Upload viruses, malware, or any malicious code

Interfere with or disrupt the App's operation or servers
4 Ownership and Intellectual Property
Our Intellectual Property
The App, including all content, features, functionality, design, code, graphics, logos, and trademarks, is owned by ReceiptScanner and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Your Content
You retain all ownership rights to the receipt images and data you upload to the App ("User Content"). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to:
- Process your receipt images using OCR technology
- Store and sync your data via iCloud (if enabled)
- Provide the App's features and services to you
We will never use your receipt images or data for any purpose other than providing the App's services to you.

Subscription Terms
- Premium subscriptions are available as monthly or annual plans
- Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings
- No refunds for partial subscription periods
Free Trial
We may offer a free trial period for Premium features. At the end of the trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends. You can cancel anytime during the trial period without being charged.
6 Payment and Refunds
Payment Processing
All payments are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system. We do not have access to your payment information. All payment-related issues should be directed to Apple Support.
Refund Policy
Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policy. Generally:
- Refunds are at Apple's discretion
- Request refunds through the App Store within the eligible period
- We do not process refunds directly
- Subscription cancellation does not automatically trigger a refund
Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription prices at any time. Price changes will not affect your current subscription period but will apply to subsequent renewals. You will be notified of price changes in advance.
7 User Responsibilities
As a user of ReceiptScanner, you are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials

All activities that occur under your account

Ensuring your device meets the App's technical requirements

Maintaining a stable internet connection for cloud features

Backing up your data regularly (if not using iCloud sync)

Verifying OCR accuracy of scanned receipts

Complying with all applicable laws when using the App
8 Acceptable Use Policy
Prohibited Activities
You must not use ReceiptScanner to:
- • Upload fraudulent or falsified receipts
- • Violate any laws or regulations
- • Infringe on others' intellectual property rights
- • Transmit harmful code or malware
- • Harass, abuse, or harm others
- • Collect user data without authorization
- • Impersonate any person or entity
Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account and legal action if necessary.
9 Disclaimers and Limitations
"AS IS" Disclaimer
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY.
No Guarantee of Accuracy
While we strive for 99.9% OCR accuracy, we do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, accurate, or complete. You are responsible for verifying all scanned receipt data and should not rely solely on the App for tax or financial reporting purposes without verification.
Service Availability
We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times or that it will be free from errors, bugs, or interruptions. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time without notice.
Third-Party Services
The App may integrate with third-party services (Apple iCloud, payment processors, etc.). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or functionality of these third-party services.
10 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RECEIPTSCANNER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.
This includes, but is not limited to, damages arising from:
- Loss of receipt data due to device failure, software errors, or user error
- Inaccuracies in OCR processing or expense calculations
- Unauthorized access to your account or data
- Service interruptions or downtime
- Third-party service failures (Apple iCloud, payment processors)
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS LESS.
11 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ReceiptScanner, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use or misuse of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any law or regulation
- Your User Content or any claims related to it
- Your infringement of any third-party rights
12 Termination
By You
You may terminate your account at any time by deleting the App from your device and contacting us to request account deletion. Upon termination, your locally stored data will be deleted, and your access to premium features will cease.
By Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if:
- You violate these Terms
- You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- Your account remains inactive for an extended period
- We are required to do so by law
- We discontinue the App or specific features
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, all licenses granted to you will immediately cease, and you must stop using the App. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including indemnification, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) will remain in effect.
13 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by:
- Posting the updated Terms in the App
- Sending an in-app notification
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top
Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the App.
14 Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Informal Resolution
Before filing a claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at support@receiptscannerapp.com . We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 60 days.
Arbitration Agreement
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. It affects your legal rights, including your right to file a lawsuit in court.
If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, any claim or dispute will be resolved by binding arbitration, rather than in court, except you may assert claims in small claims court if they qualify. The Federal Arbitration Act and federal arbitration law apply to this agreement.
Class Action Waiver
You and ReceiptScanner agree that any arbitration or proceeding shall be conducted on an individual basis and not as a class action, consolidated action, or representative action. You waive your right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
15 Miscellaneous
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ReceiptScanner.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms at any time.
Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, or internet/telecommunications failures.
