1 Information We Collect

Receipt Images

We collect and process the receipt images you scan using our app. These images are temporarily stored on our servers for OCR (Optical Character Recognition) processing to extract receipt data such as merchant name, date, amount, and line items.

OCR-Extracted Data

After processing your receipt images, we extract and store text data including merchant names, purchase amounts, dates, categories, and line items. This data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your iCloud account if you enable cloud backup.

Usage Analytics

We collect anonymous usage data to improve our app, including:

  • Number of receipts scanned
  • Features used within the app
  • App performance metrics
  • Crash reports
  • Device type and iOS version

Location Data

We may optionally collect approximate location data (city/country level only) to categorize receipts by location and provide location-based insights. This feature is optional and can be disabled in app settings.

Local Storage

All your receipt data is primarily stored locally on your iPhone device using secure iOS storage mechanisms. This ensures your data remains private and accessible offline.

Temporary Server Storage

Receipt images are temporarily uploaded to our secure servers for OCR processing. These images are:

  • Encrypted during transmission using TLS/SSL
  • Processed within 24 hours
  • Automatically deleted from our servers after 24 hours
  • Never used for any purpose other than OCR processing

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest and in transit, secure authentication, regular security audits, and access controls to protect your data.
